Our commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive conference experience for everyone in the Indonesian software developer community.

Guiding Principle

All participants—including in-person and online attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff—must abide by this Code of Conduct. The safety and comfort of all participants take precedence above all else.

1. Purpose & Core Principles

Indonesia Software Developer Conference (IDSW 2026), organized by Perkumpulan Pengrajin Kode Indonesia (PERKODI), is dedicated to fostering an open, collaborative, and harassment-free community conference.

We believe that the developer ecosystem thrives when diverse perspectives are welcomed with mutual respect and professionalism. Every individual deserves an enjoyable, productive, and safe conference experience, regardless of their background, identity, or level of technical experience.

Respect Everyone Treat all participants with professional courtesy, empathy, and dignity.
Zero Tolerance Discrimination or harassment in any form is strictly prohibited.
Safety First Follow instructions from event staff. Participant safety and comfort come first.

2. Scope & Applicability

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants across all event contexts and touchpoints:

  • In-Person Venue: Usmar Ismail Hall, Jakarta, including auditorium stages, exhibition areas, hallways, networking lounges, restrooms, and associated venue facilities.
  • Online Channels: Official livestream chats, social media channels, and community groups.
  • Official & Unofficial Associated Gatherings: Speaker dinners, pre-conference mixers, after-parties, and community meetups bearing the IDSW name or partnership.
  • All Roles: Attendees, speakers, sponsors, booth staff, organizers, volunteers, and media partners.

3. Expected Behavior

We expect all participants to uphold the following standards:

  • Practice inclusive and respectful communication: Use welcoming language, listen constructively, and value differing professional viewpoints.
  • Follow staff instructions: Comply promptly with directions given by IDSW organizers, venue management, and security personnel.
  • Respect shared spaces and personal boundaries: Be mindful of physical space, personal comfort, and accessibility needs of fellow attendees.
  • Be attentive to fellow participants: If you see someone in distress, experiencing discomfort, or facing inappropriate behavior, offer assistance or alert event staff immediately.
  • Professional conduct: Introduce yourself courteously. Solicitation, product pitches, or promotional activities must be respectful and consensual.

4. Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment and discriminatory conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, or religion.
  • Use of sexualized images, language, jokes, or provocative material in presentations, slides, or public spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or harassing photography and video recording without consent.
  • Sustained disruption of presentations, workshops, panel discussions, or networking sessions.
  • Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention of any nature.
  • Aggressive commercial solicitation, unsolicited direct promotional spamming, or disruptive guerrilla marketing without prior sponsor authorization.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviors.

Immediate Compliance: Participants asked by staff, speakers, or attendees to stop any harassing or disruptive behavior are required to comply immediately.

5. Exhibitors & Sponsors

Exhibitors in sponsor booths, partner lounges, and demo areas are fully subject to this anti-harassment policy:

  • Exhibitors and booth staff (including hired promoters and volunteers) must not use sexualized imagery, costumes, or activities.
  • Promotional activities, giveaways, and booth games must maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere for all conference attendees.
  • Staff must respect participants' decision to engage or walk away from marketing conversations.

6. Reporting an Incident

If you experience harassment, observe that someone else is being harassed, or have any other safety or comfort concerns, please notify the organizers immediately through either of the following channels:

In-Person at the Venue

Approach any member of the IDSW organizing committee or volunteer crew on duty at Usmar Ismail Hall. Staff can be easily identified by official IDSW staff badges, shirts, or crew passes.

Email Reporting

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Reporting Code of Conduct Violation" for prioritized monitoring and immediate response.

Event staff are prepared to help participants contact hotel and venue security or local Indonesian law enforcement, provide safe escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel secure for the entire duration of the conference.

7. Enforcement & Penalties

The IDSW Organizing Committee and PERKODI reserve the right to take appropriate disciplinary actions against anyone who violates this Code of Conduct, including but not limited to:

  • Issuing a formal verbal or written reprimand.
  • Immediate expulsion from the conference without refund or reimbursement.
  • Permanent ban from attending or speaking at future IDSW and PERKODI-affiliated events.
  • Reporting criminal conduct to venue management and local law enforcement authorities.
